Songs Radio is under or overplaying vs actual consumption
Bridge Ratings’ STREAMSTATS service provides on-demand music streaming data to the radio and music industries. Our consumption data is founded in actual consumption metrics provided by over twenty streaming platforms including Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify and YouTube.
The data is sourced to specific genre/formats, market and radio station populations focusing on radio’s core listener group or Preference One (P1) listeners. These are listeners who report listening to one station more than any other during a typical week, their favorite.
Radio listeners consume streaming music differently than non-radio or light radio listeners. Data focused on radio’s most valuable listener has proven to extend time-spent listening and daily listening occasions at our client stations.
However, the radio industry in general, do not reflect true music consumption in their daily music plays. Exposure of songs gaining the highest amount of listening is often miscalculated - over or under played.
