BRIDGE RATINGS - Launches today providing: increased sample
sizes, higher frequency of reports, and greater affordability
for Radio Stations in Markets 50+.
Thirty-year radio veteran, Dave Van Dyke, announced today the
launch of his new company, Bridge Ratings. Based in Glendale,
California, the new Bridge Ratings will provide continuous audience
measurement products to radio stations in middle and small markets
nationwide.
"I have been hearing from station owners, General Managers,
Program Directors and Sales Managers across the country complaining
about the infrequency, unreliability and high cost of the audience
measurement products currently available to them. I felt
the time was right for an affordable research service created
and operated by broadcasters - for broadcasters", Van Dyke
said.
Bridge Ratings provides weekly, monthly and quarterly audience
reports emailed to client stations within 72 hours of the completion
of each week's final interviews. In addition to daypart
and demographic specific information, the Bridge Ratings report
also includes time- spent comparison reports. "It's
not enough to know how much your audience increases or decreases",
Van Dyke said, "in order for an audience measurement product
to provide programmers with truly actionable information it must
also tell them what stations their audience is coming from and
- perhaps even more importantly - what stations they are losing
audience to. Our product does that".
Bridge Ratings products will also provide increased sample sizes
and higher monitoring of samples demographically and geographically
creating less sample weighting and greater reliability.
"Radio station operators in markets 50+ receive infrequent
ratings information with unreliable sample sizes", said
Van Dyke. "The Bridge Ratings service has increased
sample size requirements in these markets, which improves survey
reliability. Although sample sizes have been increased,
affordability has not been affected. As a matter of fact,
the cost of this service is far less than services currently
available to these broadcasters."
Bridge Ratings is currently providing reports in the Oxnard-Ventura,
CA metro with more markets expected to be announced shortly. "Bridge
Ratings had not even officially opened for business before today
and already the response from stations has been overwhelming",
said Van Dyke. "Because our state-of-the-art systems
are already tested and in place, there is little or no ramp up
time for new markets. Based on the response I am already
receiving, I have no doubt we will be expanding quickly".
