For Immediate Release:
Thursday, March 4, 2004
Bridge Ratings founder and President,
Dave Van Dyke, announced today the release of the company's first
complete 12-week audience measurement survey for Oxnard/Ventura,
California their first measured market.
"We've learned an amazing amount
of information from this survey," remarked Van Dyke. "Among
them, 1. Bridge Ratings' study mines "phantom cume" more
effectively than other services and 2. We've eliminated
the bizarre inconsistencies represented in other ratings services
because our methodology more effectively reflects market population.
This Fall study confirms that listening patterns don't change
all that much from week to week and month to month.
Stations showing upward trending during
the 12-week survey period which began on November 11, 2003 and
completed February 29 are: KCAQ, KHAY-FM, KXLM-FM, KBBY-FM,
KFYV-FM, and KOCP-FM.
Down trending stations include: KMLA-FM,
KSSC-FM, KVTA.
Bridge Ratings more effectively measures
cume shares and favoriteness. "Cume share is the station's
audience represented as a percentage of all those listening to
the radio during a given week," explains Van Dyke. "Favoriteness
is equivalent to a station's Preference One or P-1 listening.
We have found these two statistics,
when viewed together, paint a very clear picture of the health
of any given radio station.
