Which one is better?

Recently I was faced with the question of which is better, an ipod or a cell phone that can download music. The first thing I did was look at the experience I have had with both so that I could assess the pros and cons. Then I looked it over and thought which would be better.

I couldn’t choose. So after that I asked two of my friends what they think. The first one, Su, had this to say:

"I would prefer an Ipod because it has a lot more memory. I wouldn't have to worry about whether there is enough space or making room for new songs. With iPods, I don't have to pay for my songs because I can borrow CDs from my friends and rip their songs onto my computer or borrow my friends' mp3 players and get songs from there. It's less convenient and can be a slow process but a lot less expensive. People love inexpensive things now that prices have skyrocketed. Why pay about $2 a song when I can get an unlimited amount of songs from my friends? I'd rather have an ipod, which can hold all my songs.

"And then I thought, while some phones you can download songs off the computer like an ipod, others you can't. Also if you get the right kind of iPod you can hold a lot more memory. You can buy memory cards for phones but they can only hold as much as an iPod mini or nano. Other iPods will let you hold a lot more music and if you get the iPod video then you can also have full length movies on it (I have seen my friends do this). Cell phones can have videos but the quality isn't as good and its only music videos."

After I thought about that I asked my other friend (Su's younger sister Phet) and she had this to say:

"A music downloading cell phone would be my choice instead of an iPod. With the cell phone, you could talk, listen to music, and have a variety of other extra things. An iPod would only have songs, without the extra materials. Which means you would have to carry an iPod as well as a cell phone. Think of the music downloading cell phone as a “two-in-one”. If you have the music downloading cell phone, you wouldn’t have to carry an Ipod at all!"

So that made me think. Having a two in one would be good because it would take less room, but then again not the same memory. Some music cell phones have great speakers and can go loud and also put the music into the head sets, but some don’t have good quality and the speakers are very low, but at least it has speakers, with an iPod you have to buy an extra set of speakers to plug into, but it has good quality and great volume.

After looking at all this I decided that I would rather trust my music to the iPod because if you get the right kind then you have more memory and can watch bigger longer better quality videos. But it really depends on the amount of money you have to spend on it.
